100th Day T-Shirts
For the 100th day of school, your first grader is invited to create a "100th Day Shirt that he/she will wear to school on this day. This is an optional activity. The shirt is to be made at home and should have 100 objects glued, stuck, drawn, or ironed onto the shirt. A note was sent home last week regarding this project. We will be celebrating the 100th day of school on Friday, February 7th. On this day we will spend the day doing activities revolving around the number 100. Have fun creating!
Empty Cereal Boxes STILL Needed
We will be using empty cereal boxes to decorate and store our Valentines in the near future. Please send in any empty ones you may have! Thank you to Mrs. Shanks for volunteering to help cover the boxes. If you have some time to spare, and can help cover the boxes with white paper during the week of February 3-7, let me know!
Report Cards
The second and third card marking report cards are not printed for families, but accessed digitally. Report cards will be available online this Thursday, January 30th. Login information will be sent home with your student on this day. If you need a paper copy, please let me know.
Valentines
Our class will be celebrating Valentine's Day on February 12th. We will not be having a classroom party. Instead, we will be doing some fun centers, reading our valentines, and having a small simple treat/ snack. Remember: February 12th is also a half-day of school.
If your child would like to pass out valentines to their classmates, I ask that your child bring enough for everyone (23) and ONLY SIGN THEIR NAME ON THE CARD SO STUDENTS KNOW WHOM IT IS FROM. THERE IS NO NEED TO ADDRESS THE VALENTINES. Therefore, I will not be sending home a class list. This helps tremendously on time when the students are passing their valentines out. Students may start to bring in their valentines no earlier than Monday, February 10th to pass out.
Snack Donations
We are in need of individually packaged snacks for the classroom. These are helpful when students forget to bring one for the morning. Some great examples are: raisins, fruit snacks, pretzels, crackers etc.
A friendly reminder that students should bring one healthy snack for the morning and, if you want, an afternoon snack they can eat in the afternoon. Thank you in advance!
